Umm, is this real life?
I think so.
I can't believe it. I mean, I can because I'm staring right at the announcement on the New Jersey Web Fest Instagram account. And I had to do a double, triple check on the count, but yup... seventeen nominations across THREE stories - Ominous Thrill LIES, THE CHANT, and MOTHER LINE.
Let's count'em down.
BEST LEAD PERFORMANCE: LAUREN HENNING as Sia in LIES. ZOE OLIVIA as Aria in THE CHANT.
BEST CHEMISTRY: EVIE CECILE JOHNSON and TOBY MEULI in MOTHER LINE
BEST SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE: MILLY SANDERS as Dr. Knox in LIES.
OUTSTANDING HORROR: THE CHANT and MOTHER LINE both snag a nomination.
OUTSTANDING DRAMA: LIES
BEST ANTHOLOGY: OMINOUS THRILL
BEST STAND ALONE FICTION: LIES, MOTHER LINE, THE CHANT
BEST SCRIPT WRITING: LIES
BEST EDITING: THE CHANT, MOTHER LINE
BEST SOUND DESIGN: MOTHER LINE, THE CHANT
BEST DIRECTION: THE CHANT
Crazy! I'm so grateful for the recognition. So much goes into making Ominous Thrill, and I always love when our performers get recognition. Not a single bit of these stories lands without their performances brining it to life.
Obviously, these are not wins and even with so many noms, there are A LOT of great shows in the running for these same awards. Some are golden names in the audio drama space. Just to be sharing noms in the same categories as them is beyond flattering.
I'll be heading to New Jersey for the festival in September. Wish me luck!
