I was tagged on socials by Rock Capuano who posted their ranking of every Ominous Thrill story to date and wanted to share it here.
As the creator, I could not bring myself to rank my little beasts like this. I love them all so much, even if for very different reasons.
Literally each story, and even every episode could end up at the top of my list for reasons that would be mine and mine alone.
I often get asked which episode is "my favorite." I've considered making a bonus episode where I explain the reasons why every episode is literally "my favorite episode." 😂 Still thinking on that.
But that is the crux of rankings, isn't it? They always reflect more about the person ranking than the thing being ranked. It's like a little peak into someone's personal taste and preferences.
To me, the literal ranking itself matters less than the fact that someone did this in the first place. Especially when we consider there is nearly 16 hours of audio represented in this list.
Now, I'm guessing they didn't listen to every minute of every episode (correct me if I'm wrong, Rock!) It's reasonable to think they might have tapped out on the stories that ultimately ended up at the bottom of their list.
Still... it's quite a feat to do this and I'm flattered by the interest and effort. I loved seeing it
